Avantika Vandanapu Faced Backlash Rumors Of Playing Rapunzel
Many TikTok users have posted videos expressing their disappointment with Avantika playing the role of Princess Rapunzel.
One TikTok video shows a white woman crying with the caption,
“Me pretending the little girl in me isn’t so upset by the live-action Rapunzel casting.”
Another user said that she wanted to cancel Disney if Avantika was cast as Rapunzel because she doesn’t belong to German descent.
But, South Asian fans have rushed to Avantika’s defense, pointing out there has been no confirmation that she will be playing Rapunzel.
