In the American science fiction action film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Noa inherits some of Caesar’s legacy, but they are not directly related.
It has two replacements for Caesar, Noa and Proximus Caesar, representing the perfect way to continue the franchise. Proximus Caesar tries to explore Caesar’s legacy and adds depth to his character using his name.
Highlights
- Noa and Caesar aren’t directly related, but everyone believed Noa was the descendent of Caesar, and Proximus Caesar wasn’t.
- Director Wes Ball has clarified that Noa has a mythic connection to Caesar through destiny, birthmarks, and similarities woven throughout the film’s frames.
- Caesar, the first enhanced ape, created a new society for apes, whereas Noa is just a part of that society.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, released on May 10, 2024, is a sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes.
It began its principal photography production in October 2022 at Disney Studios Australia and concluded on February 15, 2023.
Wes Ball directed it, and the film takes place 300 years after the war events, which follows a young chimpanzee named Noa’s journey alongside human woman Mae.
Noa Is Not Related To Caesar In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Andy Serkis portrayed Caesar in Planet of the Apes. Many generations after his demise, the apes have split into numerous clans forming different groups.
Owen Teague’s role as Noa is the hero in this film, but his storyline is distinct from Caesar’s.

Noa is an ordinary ape within the society depicted in the movie, and he is neither related to Caesar nor part of Proximus Caesar’s inner circle.
However, speculation that he was Caesar’s descendant spread like wildfire. Everyone believed he was the chosen one, whereas Proxius Caesar wasn’t.
Afterward, Director Wes Ball clarified that Noa has a mythic connection to Caesar.
They are connected through destiny, birthmarks, and similarities woven throughout the film’s frames, even though the events occur 300 years after Caesar’s demise in War for the Planet of the Apes.
